Nitro Harbor

★★★★☆ 4.1 Editor rating

Nitro Harbor goes for arcade thrills over simulation, and it knows exactly what it wants to be. The tracks wind through glowing harbour districts, and drifting around hairpins is where the fun lives. The handling model is forgiving but still asks for timing on the boost.

Progression is sensible. You unlock cars by racing well rather than endless grinding, and the tuning options are light enough not to overwhelm. We had a few races where the rubber-band AI felt cheap, which is our main complaint.

It's a solid commute game. Each race is a couple of minutes, the music is good, and it never demands your full attention for an hour straight.
