When grinding in an RPG feels good (and when it doesn't)

Every mobile RPG has grinding, but the good ones hide it so well you barely notice. The difference comes down to whether each repeated fight teaches you something or just drains a timer.

Emberfall Saga handles this nicely by letting you experiment with your party for free. Replaying a boss to try a new strategy doesn't feel like a chore because you're actively learning, not farming.

Bad grind shows up when the only variable is how many times you tap. If I can automate a fight and look away, that's a sign the designers ran out of ideas and padded the game instead.

My tip: if an RPG feels grindy, change your approach before you change your gear. Often the wall isn't your stats, it's a strategy you haven't tried yet.
